Dinner will be provided by the chapter and the program will begin at 7P. Dana R Frank, PharmD will be presenting “Deprescribing: Knowing What is Necessary.” 1 contact hour pending approval: This activity has been submitted to  American Nephrology Nurses Association for approval to award contact hours. American Nephrology Nurses Association-Approver is accredited as an approver of continuing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Centers Commission on Accreditation. 

Objectives:

  1. Display and discuss projected increases in the aging population
  2. Discuss  how normal changes in the aging body can alter the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of commonly prescribed medications
  3. Identify common medications and/or classes of medications that should generally be avoided or used cautiously in the geriatric patient
  4. Outline available prescribing and deprescribing tools

We look forward to hearing from Dana about this very important topic for our clients.
