Part time faculty opening

Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing is seeking a qualified candidate for a part time faculty opening:

Part-Time Faculty openings are academic assignments for those who will have responsibility for teaching students in the Hybrid Accelerated BSNprogram in the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing (MNSON).

Expectations for appointment include:

1. Respects and communicates the dignity, worth, and culture of students, faculty, colleagues, peers, staff, patients, families, and communities.
2. Maintains ethical standards of the profession of nursing and the University.
3. Adheres to state and federal laws (i.e., privacy, confidentiality, and reporting of student and patient information).
4. Communicates effectively with students and colleagues.
5. Prepares in advance to deliver content.
6. Assists students in learning, and with transfer, utilization, and synthesis of previous knowledge.
7. Assumes teaching responsibilities
8. Provides physical and emotional environment conducive to effective teaching and learning.
9. Maintains availability to students in order to advise students and to be available to students for coaching and mentoring.
10. Uses a variety of methods to assist students in achieving course outcomes.
11. Demonstrates ability to teach effectively in formal and informal teaching situations.
12. Demonstrates enthusiasm for teaching and nursing.
13. Maintains satisfactory working relationships with colleagues within the School of Nursing

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum master’s degree in nursing; doctoral degree preferred

Must currently have or be eligible for RN licensure in the state of Illinois
